Invitation Circular

The International Braille Chess Association (IBCA) and the Association “Cross” invite all IBCA
member countries to participate in the 10th Individual IBCA World Junior Chess Championship
for the blind and visually impaird 2018 in Solec-Zdroj - Poland.
Participation: As there was no Junior Chess World Championship for the Blind and Visually
Impaired in 2017 IBCA will consider this a special case and allow players who are born on and
after Jan 1st 1997.

Date:
The competition will take place from 13th of August till 24th of August 2018.

Situated in Solec-Zdroj (south Poland, 90 km east from Cracow), Mineral Hotel Malinowy Raj
features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. The modern and
professionally equipped facilites have 105 rooms including suites.All the rooms have a flat-screen
TV with satellite channels. The rooms include a private bathroom.
The Hotel in Solec-Zdroj is a place that retains the original idea of the SPA. Only Malinowe Hotel
can offer sulfur baths in the world’s strongest sulfurous water. The complex includes a recreational
pool, seasonal open – air pools and Poland’s first (and only) sulfur and brine pool.
The Medical Centre offers treatments in balneology, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and various
forms of massage. Guests can also use the cardio zone, sauna and pool complex, where activities
are held daily with an instructor.
This is also an ideal place for active people and families, as the hotel offers a wide range of
attractions for children.
The restaurant servers traditional regional cooking, with elements of european cuisine.

All delegations must deposit 100% of the total cost for hotel accommodation before 31.05.2018
If you have problems transferring money to the deadline mentioned above, please contact the
organizer.

Prices:
Single room: 75 Euro per day. For 11 days with full board 825 Euro per person.
Double room: 60 Euro per day. For 11 days full board 660 Euro per person.
The price includes: accommodation and 3 meals per day (buffet menu), transport from and to the
airport or train station in Cracow, free access to the hotel swimming pools and sightseeing trip to
Cracow.

The IBCA member countries must pay the annual fee of 150 Euros before the start of the first
round to IBCA.

Transportation:
Organizers are obliged to provide transportation from and to Krakow Airport and railway station
without any cost for all participants.
All delegations must send the flight or train details (date, time and flight or train number for
arrival/departure) to the organizing committee before 30.06.2018 .

Changes in schedule may be done if necessary.

Conditions:
Allowed to participate are blind or visually impaired players born January 1st 197 or later.
The championship will be played in 9 rounds Swiss System in accordance with FIDE regulations.
The playing time will be 90 minutes + 30 seconds for each move.
Each player should bring a Braille chess set and a Braille or digital chess clock.
The player who has the white color should bring a chess clock for the game.
Non-braille chessboards will not be allowed.
Players placed first, second and third will be awarded respectively with gold, silver and bronze
medals, cups and cash prizes.
