We invite you to the first Poznań Shogi Open. Shogi is the Japanese variant of chess, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi for the rules.

Venue: Klub Osiedlowy KRĄG, Dmowskiego 37, 60-211 Poznań
System: 5 rounds, Swiss system, 20 min + 40 sec byoyomi, FESA rated
Timetable: registration until 11:20, first round at 11:30, closing ceremony approx. at 16:45
Prizes: for the first three players, the best newcomer (player without official FESA rating), the best player with ELO below 1700, the best player with ELO below 1400
Fee: 20 PLN or 4.50 EUR

The number of participants is limited to 30 players.

Registration: Early registration is recommended for better planning. It is not required to provide the phone number in the registration form. You can choose a random date as birthdate. If your town should appear in the list of participants, please add it as a message in the registration form.

Handicap games: Players are invited to play handicap games. A table with recommended handicaps will be provided. The following rules apply: In case of jishogi (mutual entering kings), the handicap giver gets credit for the pieces removed at the start. In case of sennichite (move repetition) or a tied jishogi count, the handicap giver wins.
